If you are bored, you have come to the right place. I felt the same way resonantly, so I have started picking up reading again. After years and years of ignoring original work, I looked at the latest releases and I would admit that my mind was blown at all the new fascinating stories that have come out.
The reason I quit reading in the first place was because it was just the same thing over and over again. There was no verity, and nothing really caught my interest. YA books were not as popular as they are now, and I have just realized that is what I enjoy most. Since twilight, YA has grown exponentially, and I have more then enough books to stratify me— For this year at least.
Books have vastly grown in creativity and style. It has really caught my interest again. I have been devouring books constantly since I have found out. I just can’t get enough, yet nine times out of ten the books I picked out ended up being less then satisfactory. I’m a very picky reader, so thats not surprising.
But good or bad, each book has it’s own experience that I learn and grow from. So even if I complain, I always end up reading the entire book (For a few exceptions) and I thought It would be nice to make a list for both myself and anyone else who is just as passionate about books as I am, and needs a good recommendation as well as a nice review, so they know what they are getting themselves into.
I will pick out the best of the best that I have read. The one out of ten books I thought was wonderful. Talking about both series as a whole, and stand alone books.
I like YA best, but I read a lot of Adult as well. Anything that seems interesting I will read it, so I do not just stick to one thing.
I mostly enjoy Fantasy and Romance, but anything can catch my attention, and I’m more then welcome to jump into their world with open arms.
A good example is Science-Fiction. When I thought of the word, first thing that came to mind was ‘star wars’ and ‘star trek’. I never got into it for whatever reason, probably because I was too young, so I never gotten into the genre. I also never liked aliens. They were scary to me as a child. After reading The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, she has taught me that Science-fiction isn’t just aliens and spaceships, and has opened my mind to a whole new world of possibilities.
And that says something about a book, if it takes the reader out of their comfort zone of genre and they fall in love with it. Making them hungry for more and opening up their tastes for a whole genre they never even thought of accepting before.
My goal with this blog is to do just that: Open people’s minds into reading other stories. Hopefully readers will be introduced to new series and stories they never heard of before, and broaden their reading, as well as their imagination. If they enjoyed the ride, then I believe it was all worth it.
